The technical name for the Pear is Pear-Shaped Modified Brilliant, based upon its shape and modifications of the traditional round brilliant cut diamond. Pear shaped diamonds may be used for engagement rings, suites in necklaces, dangles in earrings, and integral parts of custom designs.
